This sacred Thursday, Supreme released their Spring/Summer 2017 collection which featured a handful of collaboration pieces with The North Face. Since 2007, Supreme has been collaborating with the popular outerwear company to bring skaters and fashion lovers clothing for all climates. Now, in their 18th season collaborating, the two brands have released an exceptionally appealing collection, including a variety of pullovers, fleeces, backpacks, and headbands, all of which sold out immediately. When it comes to Supreme, it pays to be quick on the trigger; the $500.00 windbreaker is already on eBay selling for anywhere between $700.00 and $1,200.00. The exclusivity and value of the clothes, driven up by the extreme demand, is part of what makes the streetwear brand so popular. A handful of shrewd speculators have profited significantly by simply buying and reselling these Supreme pieces.
The new drop takes a slightly more simplistic approach to the usual Supreme x The North Face style. Compared to last season’s release, these pieces are more functional and not as busy as previous lines. A lot of the new collection features American flags, an interesting choice given Supreme’s last political message. The colors of this drop are more colorful than usual; bright yellows and reds, and vibrant blues. Along with The North Face pieces, an assortment of shirts, hats, and accessories were released. While some merchandise is still available, those who are just now checking it out will be faced with slim pickin’s.
