Electro-mineralism is a concept that mankind is the medium through which the universal creative spirit expresses itself. The term was coined by Android Jones, a digital painter with a wide variety of artwork. His work focuses on altering both our consciousness and our perceptions of our surroundings. Jones, a Colorado native, has focused on art since the age of eight, going on to attend Ringling College of Art and Design in Sarasota, Florida. Unlike any other artist of his kind, Jones is setting the pace in this world he’s created.
Jones’ passion for creating has benefited him throughout his career. Jones created live visuals for producer Tipper live at the music festival Ultrasound in 2013 and 2014. Tipper went on to use Jones’ work as the album artwork for his album, Forward Escape. Jones has also been performing his live digital art, Samskara, in an immersive 3D dome environment at festivals across the country like Burning Man and Boom Festival. His custom digital display allows his art to take viewers on a journey through unimaginable realities. Jones has also created a new world with his art in a virtual reality (VR) application by developing software called MicrodoseVR. MicrodoseVR combines music, art and dance into a real time experience by immersing the player into a simulated alternate dimension. The sky´s the limit when it comes to Jones’ intuitive and creative imagination.
You can find Jones´ work anywhere from the walls of the Empire State Building to the Sydney Opera House. Jones successfully captivates his fans by producing beautiful artwork available for purchase in several mediums, such as tapestries, holograms, clothing, and prints. By using complex concepts and pushing the boundaries of imagination through innovative media forms, Jones has contributed to art exhibits and events on six continents. Jones continues his work from his repurposed barn studio in his hometown of Lyons, Colorado.
“I have seen things in this life that I am incapable of translating into words. In my practice I have visited realms where the imagination ends, and the terrifying beauty of infinity unfolds over and over again.
If I could distill into words exactly what motivates me to create the art that I make than it would not be worth making it. Instead I have chosen the Pen.Honestly I don’t know why I make this art, or what compels me to keep creating it; it’s a mystery I intend to pursue for the rest of my life, and each image brings me closer to the Ultimate Truth.” -Android Jones 2013
